Improv!

Don't think.
Not a message classically delivered to teenagers. However, this is exactly what Counselors John, Pascale, and Ste instructed the Super Seniors to do during 5th period Improv. Improv is the process of thinking on the spot and creating a scene with whatever comes to you. There are only 2 rules in Improv: Never say no and Don't Think, besides from that everything is free game!

Because the concept is so foreign, the period began with an exercise to get the campers thinking on their toes.
First, the group was split in 2 and formed 2 lines facing each other.
To start, one person would have to strike up a conversation about the first thing to come to mind.
The person across from them would have to respond immediately.

After a few rounds, campers got extremely good at this and were ready for the next challenge: "World's Worst". A counselor would say an occupation or event, and campers would have to jump into the center of the circle and improv what the world's worst would be.
  The World's Worst Hair dresser...
  Camp Counselor...
  Teacher...
Babysitter...
and Marriage proposal were just a few of the topics the campers had to act out.
Finally, it was time to create full scenes in a matter of seconds with the assistance of the game "Scene in a Hat".

A phrase was pulled out from a hat, and campers had to create a scene centering around that theme in less than 30 seconds.
When time was up, it was show time!
As 3:50 rolled around, the campers had a great time and didn't want to stop improving new and unique scenes! All in all, the period was a lot of fun and campers expanded their acting horizons!
