On The Prowl

I'm not sure how many of you are avid Photo Journal readers, but for those of you who are not, my last one I wrote was about Dinner, here at CK. I have decided that okay, we're all fed and happy... but I'd like to fill you in on what comes next!   After dinner, once our stomachs are full, the day is in no way over. In fact for most of the age groups, there are three different destinations that campers go to.
  • The first being Clubs! Clubs is a very cool time because the amount of time for the activity is extended, and it is with all age groups. It hosts a variety of different kinds of activities. Usually tournament games and play rehearsals are scheduled for this time as well.
Tonight the Clubs list which was beautifully read by Sara included:
  • Soccer Tournament
  • Spanish Club
  • Disc Golf
  • Harry Potter Club
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Sundial/Comic Strip
  • Tennis
  • Meeting of Bookworms (MOB)
  • Yoga
  • Drama Games/Improv
  • Evening Shade (which included Hang out, Lanyard, Lawn Games, and Music)

  • Then once that was over the Freshman and Sophomore age groups (our youngest campers) headed off to Canteen. (more detail about Canteen given down below) The rest of the age groups then headed off to different Evening Activities. Evening Activities are different forms of entertainment and competitions that are put together each night. Every night there is something different, with new prizes, excitement, and results. Tonight the Evening Acitivties were:
  • Lip Sync Practice for the Juniors
  • Makeover Madness for the Seniors
  • Deal or No Deal for half of the Supers
  • Pool Party for the other half of the Supers

After the Evening Activities, everyone stopped by the dorms to call their parents, and then headed off to Canteen. Canteen is a great way to end the day. It gives everyone a chance to sit down, talk, and have a late night snack. It also gives counselors a chance to receive their (beautifully decorated by the Staff Assistants) schedules for the next day. Once that time ends, all say their goodnights, part their ways, and head off to their dorms where they get ready and then go to sleep!

So if you ever find yourself on the prowl at night here at CKNJ, you'll be sure to witness some of these varied activities!
