Seuss!
by Zach Blaifeder

Walking through the theater doors, audience members that came to see Seussical, the week eight show, were surprised to see how elaborately decorated the theater was.
While a staff meeting was going on in the theater lobby, campers were treated to a pre show short film based on Dr. Seuss' book, The Lorax.
After dancing to some pre-set theme music, the audience took their seats. It was show time!
The Cat in the Hat, the show's narrator emerged from a big top hat placed in the middle of the stage. Then, the cast broke out in song, singing about the creativity of the human mind.
The plot then focuses on Horton the elephant, who claims he hears a noise from a flower.
Much to everyone's surprise, Horton was right! (He didn't know it at the time though. Dramtic irony at its best!) There was a whole city living on that flower, including the mayor, his wife, and his son!
The whole cast then came out to sing about it!

Horton then meets Mayze the bird, who asks Horton to watch over her egg for a little while.
It turned out that Mayze was a liar! Horton watched over the egg for much longer than he should have.
The Cat in the Hat then informed the audience that poor Horton had been sold to the circus!
Mayze eventually finds Horton at the circus, and she gets her egg back!
The last scene of the show shows that Horton realizes that there is actually something living on the flower. The residents of the flower are thankful for Horton.
The audience then came out for their final bows, and with the shake of Stu's booty, the show was over.
Much thanks goes out to Rachel, John, Pascale, Al, and Celil for making this show happen in such a short amount of time!
