Ultimate Fun
By: Zach Blaifeder

Over the past two weeks, an Ultimate Frisbee specialty program has been going on at Campus Kids-New Jersey. This photo journal is about all of the "fun" activities that these campers participated in.
The group began the session with fun little ice breakers. This is where they got to know each other better.
The next night, a long day of drills was rewarded by night time play.   Special guests also showed up to coach the campers.
A real treat came on Friday morning. Campers got to use the slip and slide in order to practice their layouts.
Coach Belline gave a quick tutorial and then the fun began!
On the Thursday of the second week, two special things happened; a skills competition and a camper-counselor frisbee game.
For the skills competition, campers were tested on their distance and accuracy. The accuracy test consisted of throwing a frisbee from twenty yards away into a net.
Even this reporter got to take a stab at it!
The other challenge consisted of throwing a frisbee from the goal line and seeing how far it went.

The camper-counselor frisbee game came after the competition. Running and stretches were done to warm the players up.
Then the counselors came, dressed in matching yellow and ready to play.

If you remember last year's game, (if you don't, you can read about it here.) after scoring the first goal, the campers got whomped by the counselor team. However, things turned out differently this year for the campers.
After miraculous coaching on Coach Belline's part, the camper team became victorious.
Beating the counselors could only mean that the frisbee program was successful in developing the players' skills and techniques, and the campers had a lot of fun in the process!
