WHICH CAMPUS KIDS CAMP SHOULD I PICK?

Campus Kids-Connecticut?
Campus Kids-New Jersey?
Campus Kids-Minisink (NY)?

All three of our camps . . .

  • have the same philosophy and home-on-the-weekends schedule.
  • give campers individual, daily choice of their activities.
  • offer the same "core activities" of team and individual sports, fine arts, performing arts, swimming, hiking and day trips, evening activities and theme days.
  • are in picturesque settings.
  • are accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed in their respective states.
  • Campus Kids is non-sectarian and welcomes people of all backgrounds.  Diversity enriches the camp experience.

The differences come down to the camp setting, some program activities, and the transportation we offer between home and camp each Monday morning and Friday evening.

Campus Kids-CONNECTICUT is one of our two "campus camps".
Setting:  It is on the attractive campus of Post University (on the Middlebury-Waterbury border) in central Connecticut.  Campers and staff live in "bunk groups" and the bunk groups live in spacious dormitories.  We eat meals in our campus center dining room.  You can browse through camp pictures and take an online tour at our Campus Kids-Connecticut page.
Program:  We have an indoor pool for swimming.  A nearby lake is used for boating and fishing.  We utilize all of the school facilities, including large gymnasium, exercise facilities, racquet ball courts, theatre, arts facilities, computer lab, tennis courts, sports fields.  We don't have to travel far from campus to enjoy campouts and hiking.  We offer horseback riding as an additional cost activity at a nearby stable.
Transportation:  offered from Connecticut, Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, western Nassau County, Westchester & Putnam Counties.

Campus Kids-NEW JERSEY is our original "campus camp".
Setting:
Located in the Delaware Water Gap area of northwest New Jersey, our camp is on the campus of Centenary College, a small independent college in Hackettstown (rural Warren County).  Campers and staff live in "bunk groups" and the bunk groups live in small dormitories.  We eat together in our two camp dining rooms.  You can browse through pictures and take an online tour at our Campus Kids-New Jersey page.
Program:
We swim in a large indoor pool, rain or shine.  We utilize all of the college facilities, including sports fields, large indoor gymnasium (brand new double-sized air conditioned gym!), gymnastics pavilion, skate park, theatre and arts facilities.  We take advantage of our rural area for hiking, fishing and outings to lakes for boating, swimming and picnics.
Transportation:  offered from Rockland County, Manhattan (west side only), and the New Jersey counties of Bergen, Passaic, Morris, Somerset, Union, Middlesex, Essex, Monmouth and Mercer.

Campus Kids-MINISINK is our "cabin camp".
Setting: Campers and staff live in "villages".  Each village has five cabins (two counselors and 8-10 campers in each), a modern bath house and a program center.  Dining is in our new dining pavilion.  The setting is very woodsy.  CK-Minisink is on the NY-NJ border near Port Jervis, NY.  You can browse through camp pictures and take an online tour at our Campus Kids-Minisink page.
Program:  There are two lakes, one for swimming, boating, aqua zip and "the blob", the other lake for nature study and fishing.  There's a three-level high ropes adventure course and a climbing wall.  There's an extensive nature study program.  Mountain biking is very popular.  All of this in addition to traditional sports, fine arts and performing arts.  We offer horseback riding as an additional cost activity at a nearby stable.
Transportation:  offered from the NY counties of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan; from Manhattan and Queens, from Fairfield County in CT; from the NJ counties of Sussex, Passaic, Bergen, Warren, Morris, Essex, Union, Middlesex and Somerset.
